Psychological testing is a valuable resource to help you understand yourself better. There is nothing to fear - it's an opportunity for psychologists to determine the best way to help you.

All psychological tests should be administered, scored, and interpreted by a qualified psychologist.

Before the start of any psychological assessment or testing, a formal clinical interview is often conducted to provide a comprehensive picture of the person being tested. An assessment can last from one to three hours, and includes questions about the individual’s personal and childhood history, recent life experiences, work and school history, and family background.

Some psychological tests are used to assess mental health conditions such as ADHD, memory problems and general cognition. Others assess levels of achievement, IQ and personality.

Child & Family Packages

Our specialised assessment packages can give invaluable information about your child’s development, learning and behaviour.

All of our assessments are conducted by fully qualified psychologists who have extensive experience in psychological assessment for children, adolescents and young adults.

Every assessment comes with a report that is highly specialised and clearly explains the results and provides individualised recommendations. We make sure you are informed every step of the way and take the time to go through results with you fully.

Choose from our comprehensive assessment packages, or talk to us about your specific needs and circumstances so we can tailor the right assessment for your child.

Our therapy groups offer individuals the opportunity to target specific issues while working in a structured environment. The group environment can help you feel supported by others who understand their experiences.

Group therapy provides the benefit of gaining insight and feedback from others who have shared your experiences. It allows individuals to access different perspectives, and promotes growth and change. It encourages group interaction and does not target individuals.

You may also be eligible to receive substantial Medicare rebates. Ask our reception.

Autism and Developmental Assessment Package

The aim of the assessment is to explore an individual's developmental profile and determine whether they meet diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Young children who are diagnosed with autism are able to access the types of services that can significantly improve their everyday functioning and developmental pathway. Older children and adolescents also benefit as they can gain valuable information to strengthen their self-awareness and identity and access services to support their social-emotional well-being and coping skills and maximise their strengths.

The assessment process carefully assesses your child in the following areas:

  • Developmental history
  • Social skills and communication
  • Restricted and repetitive interests
  • Stereotyped patterns of behaviour
  • Intellectual ability and profile
  • Memory and attention
  • Adaptive and functional skills

The diagnostic assessment includes:

  • Standardised assessment of your child’s adaptive skills
  • A feedback session outlining the assessment outcomes, including an opportunity for questioning and clarification.
