WorkCover Psychologist

WorkCover & Employee Assistance Rebates now available for online counselling

How can we help WorkCover clients?

WorkCover clients can now access immediate or same day access to expert, effective psychological consultations online, in place of face-to-face consultations. This service has been recently approved for people who are in physical isolation.

Phone or video sessions can be arranged within 10 minutes of your call, often on the same day. Just make a call to Psychology Melbourne reception on 1300 161 639 and request an online counselling session. Our receptionists will help you every step of the way.

Psychology Melbourne is a recognised expert in secure online counselling. In a 2-year project with Medibank Private and Telstra Health, we delivered online counselling to over 200 clients in Queensland. We acknowledge much of the following content came from the WorkSafe web site:

How can you access treatment if you are required to self-isolate because of COVID-19?

From Friday 20 March 2020, WorkSafe is introducing temporary arrangements that will allow medical practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, exercise physiologists, psychologists and accredited mental health social workers to deliver services via telehealth. These arrangements will be in place until further notice.

Telehealth services are telephone or video medical consultations with your practitioner in place of face-to-face consultations.

If you are a new WorkCover client requiring access to telehealth services, please contact your Agent for prior approval. Existing clients do not need to do this!

How do I get a certificate of capacity if I am required to self-isolate because of COVID-19?

You should contact your Agent to seek approval for telehealth services and obtain a valid Certificate of Capacity.

Your Certificate of Capacity can be valid for a maximum of 28 days, unless your WorkSafe Agent is satisfied there are special reasons for the certificate to cover a longer period.

Agents may authorise extended certificates in such circumstances. If you believe special circumstances apply to you, contact your Agent to discuss your circumstances.

What if my psychologist is unwell?

Psychology Melbourne has a large team of psychologists who work with a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression and relationship problems. You can even do couples counselling with each partner in different locations.

Psychology Melbourne has more than 40 registered psychologists on the team, who would be available to assist you.

We can match you to another psychologist or you can review our full team and choose for yourself.

Who can I contact with any other question about my claim and the COVID-19 measures in place?

If you have any questions relating to your claim and the COVID-19 measures, please contact your WorkSafe Agent who will be able to assist you further with any questions.
