Psychology Melbourne has a team of highly qualified clinical, counselling, health and other registered psychologists, many of whom have specialist qualifications. They employ CBT and other evidence-based strategies.
Our practice takes a number of additional measures to ensure better client outcomes by:
We offer and highly recommend an initial matching session, which our research has shown significantly improves treatment outcomes.
While we accept direct referrals to any of our psychologists, we strongly recommend our personal matching service.
In the 30-minute personal matching session, we assess and fit the client to what in our judgment is the best therapist for their individual needs.
Our methods allow us to significantly reduce the fall-out rate and improve the effectiveness of therapy.
Our psychologists also offer testing and assessment tools when required as a diagnostic aid and to support the therapy process.
We can accept referrals under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative or ATAPS.
Under Better Access, eligible patients can receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual counselling sessions in a calendar year and 10 group sessions in a calendar year. Under ATAPS, eligible patients can receive Medicare rebates for up to 12 individual counselling sessions in a calendar year and 12 group therapy sessions in a calendar year, with an additional six sessions in exceptional circumstances.
All referrals by GP’s and other health care providers must be submitted with a Mental Health Care Plan.
Patients are offered the earliest available appointment at a location that is convenient to them.
